Organize Beauty Products by Using Up What You Have

Makeup & Beauty Products

Have you heard of the Project Pan Beauty Challenge? No, it’s nothing to do with Peter Pan. It’s actually a simple concept: use up what you already have before bringing anything new into your space. Whether it’s makeup, haircare, or skincare, the goal is to finish your products. Hit the pan and keep going.

I love this challenge because I'm the weirdo that gets a little thrill when I’ve used something up completely. And, I find joy in taking control over poorly designed packaging and finding creative ways to reach the bottom of a tube. It’s maddening that there is so much product that is inaccessible if you don’t take matters into your own hands.

It’s easy to succumb to marketing and be drawn into products that promise transformation. You quickly find you have more than you need and feel stuck holding onto items you don’t even use. Believe me, I’ve been there, too. But these missteps aren’t failures, they’re lessons to learn from.

So consider this your invitation to join me in the challenge. Take everything out, see what you have, and commit to using it up. Create simple boundaries for what you bring in next: stick with products that truly work, pause before making purchases, and be mindful of what earns a place in your beauty routine. With each small and intentional choice your bathroom will become less cluttered and hopefully your bank account will see an improvement as well.
